Watch Manufacturers' Trademarks
These marks are mostly Swiss, but a few are German. The marks are arranged alphabetically by manufacturer, so the country of origin is not clearly indicated. A simple Google search of any of the manufacturer's names will likely reveal whether it is Swiss or German.
Most often these marks are found stamped into the metal of the main plate under the balance wheel, or in older watches on the main plate under the dial. The marks are the best indication of the actual movement manufacturer. Dial names, except in the case of American watches, are often of little use in identifying the maker.
